Oils

I'm a bit of a chameleon it seems. My first love is to paint with oils - I love their forgiveness, their viscosity, and the richness of the colours. I still get a total thrill when I squeeze out a little of colours like Alizarin Crimson. And with oils, more often than not, I start with a coloured ground, and draw with paint, probably French Ultramarine, before going into the painting, with some of the original drawing through in the final work.
