(not just a) HOUSEWIFE

This show is to celebrate Sue's Mum, Joyce 'Joy' Davis - labelled 'housewife' because of the generation she was born to, & told she was 'the spawn of the devil' at convent school because she was left handed & dyslexic - she was really an artist, author, contracted inventor, published knitwear designer, seamstress, & colour theorist.

Through paintings, and small works, this show shares these multi-faceted threads. Affectionate & funny,

with an aim of giving you with a sense of Joy.

Shown here is a selection of the work included in the show staged

at Cranleigh Arts Centre October 13th to 31st 2026
